What is a nappy cake?
I'm often asked that.....nappy cakes are inedible, but very delicious looking cakes made from rolled up or layered nappies! They are "iced" with blankets or muslins, depending on the size, and contain a variety of baby items such as clothes, toiletries and toys! If you want a stunning & different gift for a newborn, you won't be disappointed! I use clothing age 0-3 or 3-6 months for my creations, as new Mums like to keep these on display for quite a while....but if required I can make up any size from newborn to 6-12months. I also create Christening Cakes, and for 1st Birthdays, Engagements & Weddings....and for you pet lovers out there, yes, I make them for cats & dogs for Christmas as well!!
SAMPLE 1 TIER CAKES
A one tier nappy cake will contain 12-20 Pampers or Huggies nappies, depending on your budget.....a smaller one will have a muslin square as the "icing" round the cake & larger versions will have baby blankets or towels around the base. They can be topped with baby bootees, a cup or soft toy, and they all are finished with co-ordinating ribbons and wrapped in cellophane, and have a gift tag showing the ingredients in the "cake".....I am happy to make up a cake to suit your budget!
